Our Statement of Purpose
Affectionately known as OTC,
Tea and Cookie.org is a non-profit organization created for the purpose
of supporting a community of souls who seek to explore and learn about
the many different paths to transformation.
We do not endorse any
religion or philosophy; rather we seek to increase our understanding of
theistic and non-theistic traditions within the context of 21st century
scientific knowledge.
It is our hope that as our
awareness grows we can help soften judgments and misperceptions and
thereby do our small part to bring peace to our world.
We have found that our paths
can be more easily understood and are certainly more fun when we can
laugh and learn together over tea and cookies. |

How We Started
Tea and Cookie began as
small groups of somewhat like-minded individuals who decided to have
potlucks (with lots of desserts) on the weekends, or tea and cookies on
weeknights, and meet in each other’s homes to discuss books we’d read,
or movies we’d watched that catered to our desire to discuss meaningful
things like philosophy, religion, and how to send spoons flying through
walls with the power of our minds.
We often found ourselves
bunny-trailing into personal stories, politics and bawdy humor but
somewhere along the way we actually learned a few things that opened our
minds and we found ourselves less judgmental and more accepting of other
ways of seeing the world ... and that is a good thing. |
